Great workout tracking but needs more functionality

I have the upgrade to unlock all functions like the paid app: This is a great app to record your workout sets. Definitely beats having to carry a notebook around. This shows the improvements and gains made over time. Con - being a fitness app this is lacking the ability to connect a HR monitor to calculate calories burned a bit more accurately. This is also lacking HealthKit integration to collect fitness data like bodyweight, HR, workout time, etc ****Another negative is that the apple watch settings dont completely match iPhone settings. I have supersets off on my iPhone settings, but the apple watch still shows the option for superset and taking my 3rd timer off. (PLEASE FIX THIS) Adding external device integration & HealthKit support will open up a lot more. For now this simply is simply a paper and pencil tracker in a digital way.

Free Version - setup not intuitive

It was so frustrating to get a workout created successfully that I just deleted the app. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Pretty good. Needs the following:

Pretty good app. So far the only usable apple watch app Ive found for the gym. The app needs supersets. There appears to be an option for supersets but I havent figured it out yet. Also, would like to see integration with HealthKit so that calories etc are output to the health app and can integrate with watch data. Also, in need of adding many MANY more common exercises. Come on, no leg extensions?

Well designed

Simply put it works. Conveniently shows the pounds used in previous workouts per exercise, so you dont waste time looking back. Very clean app. My only gripes are the lack of machine based exercises (but its a small gripe that can easily be fixed by adding a custom exercise). I Would also like to see it integrate with the health app and the ability to synchronize between devises would be a plus.

Some bugs

- When you add the weight for an exercise in Apple Watch through the numeric keypad, the new weight is not saved. - When you add a custom exercise, then you go back and add another one, the data from the previous saved exercise appears on screen.

Apple Watch Support Lacking

I have been using Gymaholic for several months and like it, but I needed an app to more easily track supersets on both my iPhone and Apple Watch so I decided to try this app. Today I used this app for the first time in the gym and it was very frustating. Especially when trying to use it on my Apple Watch. There were four main problems: #1 - Changing the amount of weight using the number pad presented didnt work. I had to enter a zero save it, go back and change it to the desired weight amount before it would save. #2 - When I decided to add an exercise to my workout I had to do it on my iPhone, but this didnt push to the watch and the added exercise never appeared on the watch. I had to log it on the iPhone. #3 - There is No option to push Active Calories to Healthkit as noted in the discription and the data sent to Healthkit for Workout was in error (it sent three different amounts of time to Healthkit; two of which were in the billions of minutes!!). #4 - When you "Finish" a workout on the iPhone the Watch is not updated with this info. The routine much also be "Finished" on the watch; the problem is both of these workouts are them sent to the Healthkit. I purchased this app for its ability to track supersets and compatiblity with the Apple Watch. I will give this app more stars as soon as it works better with the Apple Watch.

Best weightlifting app for iPhone

This is a weightlifting app for people who actually go to the gym and lift weights. Its one of the few that lets you put in weight and reps using a number pad instead of sliding a silly dial up and down, and it has tons of customization options. You can tell the developer put a lot of thought into USING the app, not just making it look pretty. I have tried over 10 different weightlifting tracking apps so far, and this one is the best.

Great App!

Ive only just started using this app, but having gone through quite a few of them, I like this one due to its simplicity. It gives you what you need without a lot of fluff. This is minor, but I would like to see added the ability to share data between devices. I dont always take the iPad to the gym, sometimes I only have my iPhone. You can export/import to move the data around, but it would be nice for it to sync automatically. Thanks!!

Great Weightlifting App

This is a wonderful app. I am an avid weightlifter. I am in the gym everyday lifting. I use this app on my iPad and it makes it so easy to log my numbers really quick and move on to the next one. The one feature I would add would be a notes section in the summary tab when you finish your work out. I know a lot of weightlifting apps have notes where you can summarize your workouts in written form. Thanks.

ITS NOT FREE!

Its not free! You have to upgrade ($3.99) to personalize it! What a farce!

Great app for logging workouts

This app is great for logging workouts. It saves all your workouts, so that you can look back and check your progress. And for $3 dollars you can get the full version and make your own custom exercises. I used to log everything in a notebook and write my workouts out. However using this app is much more efficient and quicker.

Not sure its better than a pen and a notebook

I use a progressive workout routine so I just need to keep track of how many reps I did last workout and try to exceed that. Sadly thats about all this app really does. It would be cool if it could run stats for you, so you could see your progress in terms of % gains in reps and/or weight used over time. Would be even cooler if it synced with mfp or other fitness apps and gave you some extra calories to correspond with the exercises you logged. Or at least synced with itself across different devices. I suppose once set up its a bit more handy than a pen and paper, but not much. Lots of potential here though, they should put some money into some real development.

For people who actually know what theyre doing

All the other Apple Watch apps for weightlifting as of the beginning of 2016 seems to miss the point in some way. They seem geared to the Shape/Mens Fitness crowd where people follow some preset number of reps for each exercise. They dont realize that you are supposed to train to failure on each set, which means you cant pre-determine the number of reps, but have to log it each time, and need to know what you did last time so you can try to make progress. Amazingly, all the other watch apps somehow manage to mess this up. This is the only weightlifting app for Apple Watch, as of the time of this writing, that actually gets the basics right and is useful for serious weight training.

Syncing Issues

Unable to sync between devices even with using iCloud backup.

NOT FREE!

If you try to customize it it will cost you $3.99. Stops you before you get started. Bait and switch, lame tactic.

Horribly Disappointingx,

This ap by Haize Fitness works (supposedly) in conjunction with Workout Journal (which is purchase only). Again, supposedly, you are able to modify exercises and add cardio, workouts, etc very easily, etc, etc. This is BOGUS. I have just spent an hour attempting to do so. When I want to save a new exercise I am taken to a screen telling me to upgrade (for an additional $3.99). I went to their webpage and all it consists of is marketing stuff about how great they are and no instructions, no help desk, no FAQs, no contact info. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!!

App crashes constantly

The app freezes and crashes constantly. It becomes even worse when adding custom exercises - they are annoying to add bc of the crashing and they are frustrating to use during a workout bc the app freezes.

Great App.

Great app for the iPhone. I started out with the free version but quickly purchased the full version. It is worth every penny I spent on it. I like that you can customize the workouts to the way that I exercise, also have had a few issues and the customer support has been quick to respond to my questions. Cant say enough good about this app. Thanks

Fantastic, really well thought out

By far the best workout app Ive ever used! The developer really took the the time to get this right. Its designed logically, thoroughly, and is suitably flexible to accommodate a variety of workout styles. It took me a few days to understand how to best use it, but once I did I realized that the design was just about perfect. I upgraded to the paid version and it was totally worth the $3.99. I think some of the negative reviews here stem from the fact the reviewers didnt understand how the app is best used. Once you get it, youll love it. It has made my workouts incredibly efficient and fun.

Not Happy but I Have Hope

I downloaded the app and paid the four bucks. I was really excited by the customizations the app claims available. I added five custom exercises and now I cant add anymore. In fact, when I attempted to add the exercise again, it gave me a message stating it was already there. So I figured maybe theres a limit. I deleted some exercises. Restarted the my iPad and still no exercises. The basic app is good if those exercises are all you do. But the app is not capable of performing as advertised. If you purchase, and you notice the same thing happens, you can call apple and they will refund you. Im gonna try a few things before I call for refund. I really hope the app can be fixed because it will be SUPER AWESOME WHEN IT IS actually.
